Who Can Apply for the Indian Economic Service (IES) Exam?
📌 Eligibility Criteria for IES:
Educational Qualification:
- You must have a Postgraduate degree in Economics, Applied Economics, Business Economics, or Econometrics from a recognized university.
Age Limit:
- The candidate must be between 21 to 30 years of age (with relaxations for certain categories as per government norms).
Nationality:
- You must be an Indian citizen or meet the nationality criteria set by UPSC.
Note: Final-year postgraduates awaiting results can also apply, provided they complete their degree before the final selection process.

As on the basis of my own personal experience, since I have gone through a lot institute and a lot of teacher regarding my preparation for ECONOMICS OPTIONAL as well as INDIAN ECONOMIC SERVICE, I literally can say that BLISS POINT is one of the best institute in India as for as ECONOMICS is concerned. I had enrolled in the course pretty late around march as i was not satisfied with my previous coaching at some other place.
Bliss point provides a very comprehensive coverage of the syllabus which no other coaching does. The lectures from the entire faculty are class apart especially Ravinder sir and the sir who taught econometrics.
I had an issue with the course too. I had repeatedly asked the management as well as Jha sir to somehow update the micro numerical section on time. The portion though completed recently doesn’t provide us enough time to prepare for it.
The only issue i had was that the course was completed a bit too late but that was due to covid as well.
